University of Maryland offers free RFID assessment to companies

In order to give more exposure to RFID the Technology Extension Service of University of Maryland is offering a free RFID assessment program for a limited number of companies. Under the program companies will be offered on site RFID assessment starting with a review of the productivity of the company and issues related with security.

Paul Vinikoor MTES manager and certified RFID technologist said:

RFID has fully emerged due to technological breakthroughs in the past five years. Companies of all sizes can now take advantage of the productivity, security gains and enhancements it offers. International standards have also made it possible to buy hardware from many suppliers, and have lowered costs.

After the review possible solutions will be studied and a report based on the study will be offered which includes probable costs and return on investment.
