RFID to be used for tracking jasmine rice

After successful implementing barcode labels for tracking rice, Software Industry Promotion Agency or SIPA is looking to implement RFID for tracking jasmine rice from the paddy rice market to the rice mill and finally to the suppliers. RFID is expected to enable monitoring of rice through the entire logistics cycle. This will ensure information being collected in real time using RFID.

Next the agency is looking forward to track rice back to its origin and even plans to use RFID for tracking tapioca. They believe that RFID could play an important part in tracking agriculture and I certainly agree with them on this count.
