India milks RFID to glory

India is one of the largest milk producers in the world and in order to maintain that position Indian farmers have switched to RFID for improving their milk yield. Farmers in the state of Maharashtra in India have switched to RFID for improving efficiencies through proper inventory tracking and management of cows and their yield.

Para veterinarians use RFID tags for recording every minor detail ranging from milk yield and health parameters where the RFID chip is attached to the ear of the animal and the tag is read using a pocket PC or PDA. It ensures that no tampering is done with. It seems that India is going to maintain its milk production leadership position in the years to come.
