Equestrians can keep a tab on their performances with RFID

Up till now equestrians were dependant on mirrors for visually checking the performance of themselves and their horses during practice session and they also used to get their friends along in order to take video footage which could be used for detailed analysis after practice session.

All thanks to RFID as riders can now observe themselves even without the need for getting dismounted. An RFID based system is being tested which enables equestrians to watch their practice session through cameras integrated with sensors. As per the system the arena is equipped with analog video cameras and RFID interrogators for capturing transmissions from active UWB RFID tags attached to horses or riders. Multiple tags are attached to the horse in order to choose the best recording angle. It is expected to give horse riders an in depth view into their performance so that they can improve their future performances.
