Diagnostic RFID Skin Patches to enable remote monitoring of patients health

Gentag and CORE Institute have joined hands for developing and marketing RFID diagnostic skin patches for medical applications in orthopedics. The project is aimed at facilitating post surgery monitoring applications by patients and physicians with the aid of RFID enabled cell phones. This would enable patients to monitor their recovery from the comforts of their home and even enable doctors to monitor the health of damaged tissues using pressure, temperature and sensors. This technology ensures remote monitoring by physicians during the critical period after the surgery.

It is not only expected to bring down the cost of healthcare delivery but even improve the safety of the patient at an earlier stage and accurate diagnosis of the condition of the patient.
